Todo for tomorrow: work on in-line photos.

  • Here is the implementation of search categories I have come up with for Micron.

  • I think a table view cell above standard the discover page called “Search Categories” could be the way Micron implements search categories. 🖥

  • Since @manton announced the “Books” search collection, I have been wondering how to implement these in Micron. Since I am going off of the assumption that @manton will add more (They seem like a great idea.) I have implemented some sever software that makes it so I can add search collections without updating the app. Here is what the new “Discover” section would look like in Micron.

  • I’m thinking of adding a reblog feature to Micron. It would be the old (via @originalposter) way.

  • Here is a new screenshot of Micron that shows the new “Discover” icon.

  • Soundblaster

  • The latest build of Micron includes a basic iPad version (as per the request of @dnielsen). It’s not very tuned for the larger screen, as I do not own an iPad to test it on, and the simulator is too slow. It’s better than nothing, though.

  • Here is a more representative screenshot of Micron. It shows the slightly changed layout.

  • The latest build of Micron fixes a bunch of bugs. It’s funny, you never realize how buggy your app is until you have the stress of other people using it, even in a beta.

  • Today I am launching the public beta for my Micro.blog client, Micron. To sign up, just complete this Google Form. People will be invited to the TestFlight in batches.

  • Micron development log for today: Added delete to swipe menu, Moved Favorite Post gesture to leading edge, Fixed an issue where refreshing would not end when on a user’s post, Fixed an issue where the app would crash when browsing the profile of a user who hasn’t posted yet.

  • Happy New Year, Micro.blog!

  • Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen seem to be constantly distracted by people counting down for every hour. This would be fine if they went back to what they were talking about before they were distracted.

  • @manton There should be a JSON api endpoint for seeing if a user is following a username, and a list of the users a username is following.

  • Fun Fact! Wordpress.com embeds a 1x1 gif with the title “b.gif” for some reason in all posts.

  • Does Micro.Blog support an iFrame embeded video? Only one way to find out! [vimeo 249099498 w=640 h=1384]

  • Mute filters are now a thing in the current build of Micron. vimeo.com/249099498

  • I may just disable photo posting for Micron v1.0. It is proving problematic.

  • Testing the new way to input micropub credentials in Micron.

  • I really like the way the Taptic Engine has a subtle effect on swipe gestures.

  • Merry Christmas!

  • I have been working on Micron (my Micro.Blog client) and have decided to only support Micropub. However not all Micro.Blog services do not handle image uploads the way Micro.Blog does. So I will have it that if your blog isn’t Micro.Blog, you can give some AWS S3 credentials and it will upload there.

  • Progress

  • Favoriting a reply is broken on Micro.blog. vimeo.com/244401044

  • Without net neutrality, the internet will become a totalitarian state of information.

  • Testing Markdown in XML-RPC test.

  • For Micron I have developed an API to search for users on Micro.Blog as @manton has not seemed to have implemented this yet in the JSON api. It is a python web app that scrapes micro.blog/discover/… and converts it to JSON. To use it go to chris-lopez.net/microblogsearch// and replace contents of the angle brackets with your query.

  • @manton Why do replies on certain posts stop showing when you click conversation on a post, but the actual replies take you to the original reply chain?

  • The community here is really nice.

  • One thing I really like about Micro.Blog is that there is no status quo of followers or likes. The only statistic you get is how many accounts a user is following.

  • Liquid

  • I find what api calls an app uses by sniffing using the Charles app.

  • I’m Experimenting.

  • @manton Is there an endpoint in the Micro.Blog JSON API for searching users?

  • The Micro.Blog JSON api is fun.

  • “Up Close”

  • My question is, what is micro.blog classified as? Is it a social network, or a blog connecting platform.

  • The micro.blog app needs some work. Navigation is clunky, should be a tab bar.

  • So glad I got an invite! :-)

  • This is cool.
